Prospective Students

Dr. Alissa Antle's Tangible, Embodied, Child-Computer Interactions Lab (TECI) is currently FULL for the Fall 2018 intake, and we are excited to welcome several new students to our lab! The next round of applications are due in January 2019 for a September 2019 start.  Positions are highly competitive and successful students typically have a high GPA from a reputable institution with a degree in design, media, interactive technology, psychology or computer science. All PhD applicants must have a Masters degree, experience with prototyping and empircal research, and at least one high quality publication related to Dr. Antle's research areas. Please do not contact Dr. Antle if this is not the case. Suitable applicants should contact Dr. Antle well in advance to discuss potential fit with the TECI Lab.

Next Fall, interested students should check this page for updates. If this page states that Dr. Antle is taking new students, then email aantle@sfu.ca to discuss your potential application before applying to SFU.

Please include in that email the following six items (failure to do so will likely mean that your email will not be responded to):

  • a description of research interests related to the lab’s existing research
  • a curriculum vitae
  • a copy of your unofficial transcript (prefer A/4.0 cGPA)
  • a sample of your written work and TOEFL or IELTS scores for ESL students
  • a 1-2 page summary of your master’s thesis research methodology [PhD applicants only]
  • your favourite children’s digital media application with a short explanation of what you like about it
